After careful consideration, you’ve made the choice you think is best for both you and your child: to search for an adoption plan. The thought of whether or not you can still choose adoption subsequent to the birth lingers, though. Adoption Choices of Arizona realizes how stressful this time is for you, and we are here to help! For upfront reassurance, the answer is yes, you can decide to place your child for adoption following the birth, but there’s a lot more to know before going through with the decision.

If you are feeling that parenting your newborn is not the right option for you or you feel in your heart that another family is right for your child you have several options:

We can help you develop an adoption plan where you can pick an adoptive family, have an open, semi-open, or closed adoption, and have the assurance that your baby’s needs are being met and will have a solid future.

If your baby is less than 72 hours old, you may fall under the Safe Baby Haven Law. Adoption Choices of Arizona is a Safe Baby Haven drop off point. Please call the hotline number 888.422.9912 or text 602.505.4190 and someone will meet you at the office. You can remain anonymous; no questions asked, or you can participate and help develop the adoption plan for your baby.

If the Department of Child Protective Services is involved in your life, private adoption (where you choose the adoptive parent), is still an option for you. Do not hesitate to call. There is only a small window of time that you have to make an adoption plan and the baby can be released from the hospital directly to the adoptive parent.

While time is of the essence, we can still help you navigate the adoption process after your baby is born. We will come to your hospital room or wherever you want to meet and walk you through the process of making a life long plan for your baby.
