Adoption Services That Can Help!

By Ryann Smith

Are you currently pregnant and don’t know what to do next? Feeling overwhelmed and unsure about the future is common for many people dealing with unplanned pregnancy. Maybe you are pregnant and are unsure about being ready to be a parent. Baby adoption can sound intimidating at first, but for many women, it can be the best choice for them and their baby. Here at Adoption Choices of Arizona, we want to provide expecting parents with as much information as possible so they can make an informed decision.

With any choice, there come complexities. Deciding whether to place your baby for adoption is an extremely complex decision. Every individual who has gone through with adoption has done so for their own unique reasons. It is very normal to feel guilt or grief when going through adoption. You are not alone. We want every expectant parent to feel supported through their time here. This decision takes time and an understanding of how the adoption process works. Luckily, we are here to help!

Understanding the AZ Adoption Process with Adoption Choices of Arizona

There are many people that expectant parents work with when going through the adoption route. Every expectant parent is provided a Birth Parent Counselor upon contacting Adoption Choices of Arizona. Birth Parent Counselors work for expectant parents and with waiting families to assist them throughout the adoption process. For expectant parents, counselors can connect you with social services and other forms of assistance. As well as connecting you with waiting families. Counselors can assist in any kind of adoption help and are there to act as your advocate. Birth Parent Counselors understand what you are going through and can be a person to talk to throughout the pregnancy. They are here to help!

A former birth mother here at Adoption Choices of Arizona testified about what it’s like to have a birth parent counselor. “I had an amazing counselor who helped me the whole time. I’m very thankful that I got the help I needed at the time. I was never judged or even felt a bit uncomfortable with my assigned counselor.”

Along with a counselor, every expected parent will also be provided by an adoption attorney. These attorneys are very experienced, and they’re here to make sure you understand every step of the legal process and your rights. These lawyers are of no cost to expectant parents and have your best interest in mind.

 Available Adoption Services

If you decide to move forward with the adoption route, Adoption Choices of Arizona has many services for expectant parents. One of these services includes financial support. However, it’s important to note that expectant parents will not be paid for choosing adoption. It’s important that our expectant mothers aren’t under stress; if you need help paying a heating or phone bill, we can help. Financial support looks different for every person. Your counselor will work with you to assess the situation and help determine what support is available.

If you have found a family that you connect with and have matched with them, medical care is another support service we can help you with. Any kind of prenatal care that is not covered by insurance or by the state will be covered by the adoptive family. We want to make sure that both you and the baby are as healthy as possible.

Arizona, like most places in the world, is currently in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, especially with the price of housing. More than 25% of people living in Arizona spend over half their monthly income on rent. Arizona is also currently ranked eighth highest in the nation when it comes to housing insecurity. If you are experiencing a housing crisis and are sincere about adoption, we will help you find a safe, clean place to stay. Again, every case looks different, and the counselor will work with you to make sure you have what you need.
